1. HP Notebook Offering
Upon
the successful completion of Fujitsu Notebook Sales, ITU is pleased to
announce another notebook computer offering from an
external vendor, Expert System on HP Notebook Computer. There are five
categories of notebook namely, “Economy”, “Portable”,
“Performance”,
“Desktop Replacement” and “Multimedia” at special discount for your
selection. You are

2. Notebook Computer Charging Cabinets
In
view of increasing demand for notebook charging service, ITU is to roll out a notebook
charging facility in November 2011. Details are as follows:
Location WK : 1/F, South Tower HHB : 3/F (Tentative launch date: 30 Nov 2011)
The
self-serve charging cabinets will setup as locker with power socket
built-in. Students are requested to bring along their padlock when
using this service.
Express-Charging Zone In
order to serve ‘quick-charging’ students, top row of this cabinet is
reserved for express-charging purpose. Please note there is no lockable
door in this zone and students are strongly advised to stay with their
notebook when using express-charging service.

3. Opening of Executive Training Rooms in SCCIn
view of heavy demand on PC access in Student Computer Centres(SCCs) in
peak seasons, ITU will open all executive training rooms inside
SCC for student's use temporarily from Nov to mid Dec 2011. You are
welcome to approach ITU helpdesk should you need further information.

4. Secure your data in USB thumb DriveITU
received some cases of losing important data in USB thumb drive, e.g.,
term paper document, project files. With the coming of project period,
students are advised impose the following measurements to safeguard
your data in USB thumb drive:
- Copy your files from USB thumb drive to other location, e.g., home PC, regularly for backup purpose
- Use USB thumb drive on PC only with updated Anti-Virus software installed
- Enable password protection software on USB thumb drive, if available

5. Moodle E-learning SystemTo
facilitate the easy access to CPCE Libraries resources, we are pleased
to inform you that several functions which connect to CPCE Libraries
website are introduced in Moodle.
After logged into Moodle, the following functions are available on the left-hand side of the page.
• Search for past examination papers • Link to resources by subject • Link to self-learning language materials • View my library record • Search library catalogue
 Besides, more course-specific resource are available when access to particular course page.
• Search for reserved books • Search for course scheme on current and past semesters
 * Login to CPCE Libraries website may be required when accessing the resources outside HKCC campuses.
