1. New Express Printing Area

In view of increasing demand for express printing service, ITU is glad to announce new express printing area on 1/F, HHB campus and 9/F South Tower, WK campus is now open. Photocopying service will be first setup, followed by Oce printing service in mid of April 2012.

2. Useful Tips to run SAM

In order to facilitate user to run SAM exercise, some useful tips are advised as follows.

Ensure "Protected Mode" is OFF
In Internet Explorer menu bar, click Tools > Internet Options > Security tab > Trusted Sites, then de-select "Enable Protected Mode" to switch it off, re-start IE to make new setting effective.


IE8/9 : Enable Compatibility View to make SAM works properly


Quick Steps to complete SAM
1. Login SAM system https://sam.cpce-polyu.edu.hk/sam


2. Click Scan Current Computer in the Menu frame.


3. Input requested information and click Scan.


4. SAM scanning is completed when "Scanning Compleled Successfully!" message appears, click "here" to review and take necessary actions.

3. Staff IT Product Offering - HP Folio and Slate 2

ITU is pleased to announce new offering from HP this month which includes HP Folio Ultrabook and HP Slate 2. Interested Staff can access "IT Products Mega Sales" inside CPCE Portal for details.

4. Creating Self-evaluation Exercise in Moodle

If you are planning to give some revision MCQ exercises for your students before the examination, Moodle probably is a suitable platform to let your students to do self-evaluation exercises and check the answers online. Since 2nd semester 2011, ITU has been helping lecturers to upload multiple choice questions to Moodle, please feel free to contact our E-learning Team at x0591 (Cloud Chiu) or x0788 (Ivan Lam) or email to pfmoodle@cpce-polyu.edu.hk for service details.

5. Distributing Students' Assessment Grades in Moodle

Uploading Excel file is not the best way to distribute students' assessment grades. With several steps in Moodle, lecturers can give the grades to students in person. ITU encourages lecturers to fully utilize the grade feature in Moodle to replace the traditional way. Please feel free to contact our E-learning Team at x0591 (Cloud Chiu) or x0788 (Ivan Lam) or email to pfmoodle@cpce-polyu.edu.hk for one-on-one training or telephone support. Advance booking is necessary for one-on-one training.
