1. Grand Opening Ceremony of STEM EdTech Lab

After a soft launch of STEM EdTech Lab of CPCE since August 2021, a Grand Opening Ceremony took place on 20 December 2021. It is our honour to have Mr. Peter Yan King-Shun, JP, Chief Executive Officer of Cyberport, as our Officiating Guest for the Ceremony. We are also pleased to receive a congratulations message “樹標立範 臻善圖新” from Ms Rebecca Pun, Commissioner of Innovation and Technology.

2. Availability of ITU AI Virtual Assistant

It is pleased to announce availability of ITU AI Virtual Assistant (PVA). It contains the following frequently asked topics which user can check on it anytime.


  • Reset Password
  • Software & Cloud Services
  • Wi-Fi Services
  • SCC opening hours
  • Printing Service Location
  • Contact ITU helpdesk

To access PVA, user needs to login @common account in MS Teams (CPCE staff account is not yet supported) and click “Apps”, PVA will be shown in MS teams as follows.




PVA is also accessible in CPCE Portal (Student) or via this link

3. Tips on How to Enable Audio Transcript to Zoom Recording

For Zoom meeting, users can enable the Audio Transcript option in the settings of their personal Zoom account. After enabled, a transcript will be automatically generated for each new/scheduled meeting.


  • Audio transcription only supports English
  • Audio transcription only applies to cloud recordings

How to enable the Audio transcript:


1. Login in to Zoom Web Portal (https://cpce-polyu.zoom.us)




2. Select “Settings”


3. Select the “Recording” Tab




4. Turn on “Audio Transcript” in Cloud recording option




5. Confirm to Save the change


4. Tips from Big Data Lab : Free Data Visualization Resource

There are free data visualization resource online. Researcher and student are welcome to search online, and visit provider site if the resource is suitable for their project use.

5. Launch of e-Making Studio Management System (Staff Only)

Following the growth and popularity of e-making studio service https://estudio.cpce-polyu.edu.hk/ in the past two years , ITU is glad to announce that an e-Making Studio Management System ( https://ems.cpce-polyu.edu.hk ) to be launched on 7 Jan 2022. This system is to facilitate cost estimation, workflow management and progress tracking of SPOC and MOOC productions in CPCE.


It serves the following users for video production:


General user: Consolidate job requirement for cost and time estimation, submit job request with budget requirement to approver for approval, view the progress of submitted jobs and job history
Approver of unit / division / office : Review, approve/reject submitted jobs by unit / division / office users, view the progress of submitted jobs and job history in the division
e-making studio administrator : Provide feedback on video proposal and update progress of jobs on-hand
