1. GenAI Image creation tool from Microsoft

There is free GenAI image creation tool, Microsoft Designer Image Creator, which is accessible in Hong Kong (No VPN required). Image Creator utilizes DALL-3 3.0 AI system which can create realistic image and art from a text description.

To access Microsoft Designer Image Creator, user can run it browser via link, and login using your personal Microsoft account (such as @hotmail.com, @outlook.com but not CPCE account). To create an image, user needs to input image description, preview and download your image if the output fits your request.

Please note the service is under preview stage which Microsoft may change it (including availability) in future.


2. AI chat tool beside Co-pilot (Bing Chat)

Apart from Co-pilot (Microsoft), there are several AI chat tools providing good quality chat response, including Llama 2 (Facebook), Gemini Pro (Google) and Qwen (Alibaba). There are different strengths of these AI tools, highlighted as follows.

Llama 2 (https://llama.meta.com/) : it is known for its advanced conversational skills and ability to generate creative text (LLaMA 2-70B is best model of Llama 2)

Gemini-Pro (https://deepmind.google/technologies/gemini/) : Gemini can generate coherent and contextually appropriate text, and its ability to engage in natural-sounding conversations

Qwen 通義千問 (https://tongyi.aliyun.com/): Qwen specializes in real-time communication and language translation services, especially in Chinese (Qwen-72B-Chat is best model of Qwen)

You may try the above AI Chat tools via Poe (https://www.poe.com). Interested user can register an account in Poe and access these chat tools for free.


3. Remote Student Computer Centre (Remote SCC)

It is a regular reminder there is availability of remote SCC bundled with SPSS which student can make use of the software in non-campus environment. To access Remote SCC, student can access CPCE Portal (https://portal.cpce-polyu.edu.hk) and select Remote SCC. Remote SCC PC is accessible via browser and student is welcome to check the steps of user guide which is under Remote SCC access link.

4. Video recording from Blackboard sharing session (Academic staff only)

There is video recording available of Blackboard sharing session conducted by Nick Benwell of Blackboard at IT support page (http://it-support.cpce-polyu.edu.hk) -> Blackboard Ultra -> Training Video Recording. Nick carries sharing about Forms and GenAI features of Blackboard in the session.
