1. New Features on Blackboard (Academic Staff Only)

There are various enhancements and new features of blackboard on new semester.


1. Knowledge Checks in Documents: Instructors can now add interactive Knowledge Checks to documents, allowing students to test their understanding and get immediate feedback. Metrics are available to help instructors improve their teaching.


2. AI Conversation: A new activity that lets students explore a topic through an AI-guided conversation. Instructors can configure the AI persona and reflection questions.


3. Course Content Page Enhancements: Improvements to the visual design and structure of the Course Content page, making it more intuitive and appealing for both instructors and students.


4. Gradebook Improvements: New "Needs Grading" and "Needs Posting" tabs in the Gradebook to help instructors stay on top of their grading workload.

2. FAQs on Lesson Recording (Academic Staff Only)

Q1 : Can I use MS teams or Zoom for lesson recording
A1 : Both MS teams and Zoom are supported in CPCE. For Zoom, please email to ITU helpdesk for obtaining a Zoom license for class use.

Q2 : Is Zoom license only available for Full-time staff?
A2 : Zoom license is available both full-time and Part-time academic staff. Please write to ITU helpdesk for obtaining license.

Q3 : MS teams : Recording is not recorded in my OneDrive (Non-school data sync)
A3 : Recording is stored in OneDrive who start recording. Please remind student to stop recording if you found recording is started by others.

3. 3D Printing Service and Facility

Referring to ITU notice on 16 september, 3D Printers are now setup in WK campus. Our 3D printing service offer printing using various materials, including thermoplastic materials, e.g., PLA, ABA, ASA, TPU, and also metallic materials like MetalFil Ancient Bronze and 316L Stainless Steel.

4. Deadline of Mega Sales

User is reminded Mega Sales offering will expire by the end of November. Interested user is welcome to observe the offering via “IT Product Mega Sales” inside CPCE Portal ((https://portal.cpce-polyu.edu.hk).
