1. Update in Microsoft Planner

Microsoft will roll out a major update to Microsoft Planner between mid-Jan and mid-Feb 2026. Task Comments will be replaced by a new Task chat (supports rich text and @mentions; notifications mainly trigger when someone is @mentioned). Microsoft will also retire the iCalendar feed for Planner tasks (existing feeds will stop) and the /planner component in Loop (use Loop Task List instead; existing pages will show the Planner plan URL). Please review any workflows that rely on comments, iCalendar feeds, or Loop Planner components.

2. Tips on Sharpoint : Why Can’t I Access a SharePoint Site?

Occasionally, users may be unable to open a SharePoint site even though they believe they have the right permissions. If this happens, please check whether you are signed in with the correct account, confirm the site URL, and verify that you have been granted access to the site (or the specific document/library). If the issue continues, contact ITU with the site link and a screenshot of the error message for follow-up.

There is page for user self-checking (Link).

3. Data Retention for OneDrive and SharePoint

Deleted items in OneDrive and SharePoint (including files, folders, and SharePoint sites) are retained for 93 days. After 93 days, the data will be permanently removed and cannot be restored. For details, please visit this Link.
