1. Dr Jason Chan, MH, JP Recognized as “NEXT CIO Highly Commended” at the CIO100 and CSO30 ASEAN and Hong Kong Awards Gala

Dr JasonChan, MH, JP, Director of PolyU SPEED, Associate Dean (Information and Development) and Head of IT of PolyU CPCE, was recognized as the “NEXT CIO Highly Commended” at the CIO100 and CSO30 ASEAN and Hong Kong Awards Gala held in Singapore on 12 November 2025.

This honour is a testament to Dr Chan’s role as CIO and his dedication to driving digital transformation and innovation.

The Next CIO Award recognizes individuals who are advancing towards senior technology leadership. The awardees demonstrate the vision, execution capability and organizational influence that define tomorrow’s technology executives.

Dr Chan said, “This honour reflects my role as CIO and my dedication to driving digital transformation and innovation. A huge thank you to the organizer, the judges, and of course, my incredible team, partners, and family for their constant support. On to the next challenge!”

2. PolyU CPCE is Pioneering the Large-Scale, Full Deployment of Google Gemini Enterprise for Education in Higher Education in the Asia Pacific Region

We are thrilled to announce a landmark partnership between Google Cloud Hong Kong and PolyU CPCE!

It was an honour to have Mr. Oliver Parker (VP, Global AI GTM, Google Cloud) join Prof. Peter Yuen (Dean of PolyU CPCE) and Dr. Jason Chan, MH, JP (Associate Dean (Information & Development), Head of IT of PolyU CPCE, and Director of PolyU SPEED to officiate this major launch.

This project sets a new standard for higher education. We are empowering our entire community of over 14,000 members—spanning students in master's, undergraduate, and sub-degree programmes, alongside all academic and full-time non-academic staff—with free access to an advanced AI suite, including:

🔹 Deep Research & Idea Generation Agents
🔹 NotebookLM for Enterprise
🔹 Veo (Video Generation)

We are equipping the next generation with ethical, future-ready skills to shape the AI era.

ITU will send invitation emails to all eligible users for registration in February 2026, online training sessions and user guides will be provided to support onboarding.

3. Blackboard Browser Requirements

To access Blackboard reliably, please use a supported browser version (latest, or one version behind). Some mobile devices—especially those running older iOS versions (e.g., iOS 16 or earlier)—may not be able to load Blackboard properly because they cannot run the required browser versions.

If you experience access issues, such as a spinning logo after login or course content not loading, please try the following:

• Update your iOS / Android to the latest version available
• Update your mobile/desktop browser to the latest version available

4. Microsoft Service Login Tips (Staff Only)

Following the CPCE Single Sign-On (SSO) migration, please input NetID + @cpce-polyu.edu.hk when accessing Microsoft services (e.g., Microsoft Teams) via the Microsoft sign-in page:
