1. [Thank You For Participation] AI Solutions Day

PolyU CPCE AI Solutions Day was successfully held on 21 April 2026, bringing together staff, students, and industry partners to explore the growing impact of artificial intelligence on education and the workplace. Organized by the AI Lab and the Information Technology Unit (ITU), the event featured booths and sharing by leading organizations including Google, Microsoft, ByteDance, Dify, and Kinetix, alongside showcases of CPCE’s internal AI solutions and support services. Participants had the opportunity to learn about the latest AI technologies, exchange ideas with company representatives, and discuss potential collaboration opportunities. The event received strong interest and provided a valuable platform for inspiring new ideas, strengthening connections, and promoting the practical adoption of AI across the College.








2. Dr Jason Chan, Director of PolyU SPEED, Honoured with CIO GBA Legend Award

In recognition of his exceptional leadership and profound contributions to the global IT community, Dr Jason Chan, MH, JP, Director of PolyU SPEED, Associate Dean (Information and Development), and Head of Information Technology of PolyU CPCE, has been honoured with the prestigious "CIO GBA Legend" award.


The honour was conferred at the Hong Kong CIO Summit & Solution Day 2026 on 22 April 2026 at the Regent Hong Kong. The summit, centred on the theme "Digital Sovereignty & the Future of Global Tech Ecosystems", gathered over 200 IT leaders to explore pivotal topics including US-China tech relations and talent strategy in the Greater Bay Area.


This latest accolade adds to Dr Chan's growing list of honours. In November 2025, he was also recognised as “NEXT CIO Highly Commended” at the prestigious CIO100 and CSO30 ASEAN and Hong Kong Awards Gala in Singapore.










3. CPCE Prompt Library

We are pleased to announce the launch of the CPCE Prompt Library, a platform for staff and students to save, organise, share and reuse effective AI prompts within CPCE. Key features of the Prompt Library include:


📁 Private Prompt Storage: Save and organize your prompts in a personal workspace. Your collection remains accessible for the duration of your enrollment or employment at the CPCE.


🌐 Internal Sharing & Collaboration: Choose to share prompts within the CPCE. Help students, colleagues discover effective prompts for teaching and learning, research workflows, student advising, project management, and more.


⭐ Community Rating System: Upvote and rate shared prompts to highlight the most effective resources. Highly rated prompts will be featured for easy discovery.


🛠️ Full Prompt Management: Edit, tag, version, and archive your prompts as your needs evolve. Export or transfer prompts between projects with ease.

4. New Version of CPCE Chat (Staff Only)

A new version of CPCE Chat is now available for staff use, offering access to a wider range of advanced AI models, including ChatGPT 5.5, Claude Opus 4.7, Deepseek V3.2, Gemma 4 31B, GLM 5 Turbo, Grok 4.20, Kimi K2.6, Mistral Large, MiniMax M2.7 and Qwen 3.6 Plus. Staff can access the platform at CPCE Chat using their NetID and email password, with 1 million shared tokens provided for testing and optional top-up available. The upgraded service also supports features such as model switching, token usage monitoring and web search, providing colleagues with a more flexible and powerful AI platform to support teaching, learning and daily work. 5. Security Reminder – Do Not Install OpenClaw on CPCE-Owned PCs or Laptops or Devices Connected to the CPCE Intranet

For security reasons, users are reminded not to install OpenClaw on any CPCE-owned PC or laptops or devices connected to the CPCE intranet.


The installation of unapproved software may introduce security and operational risks, including system vulnerabilities, data leakage, and conflicts with the campus IT environment.


Before testing of OpenClaw, please review both the HKCERT alert and OpenClaw’s official security documentation , and ensure you have sufficient technical expertise to manage its behaviour and associated risks.


Do not use institutional, confidential, or sensitive data during any testing.

6. Reminder: Note to Students Who Will Graduate or Leave From HKCC / SPEED

Please note that the following IT services will be terminated after you graduate or leave from HKCC / SPEED:

  • Student email account
  • Microsoft OneDrive bundled with student email account
  • Microsoft Office 365 ProPlus applications (Microsoft Office / Mac Office) offered via student email account
  • Print quota account
  • Google Gemini Enterprise
  • Student Notebook Loan Service
  • Campus Wi-Fi service, including Eduroam
  • Blackboard
  • Campus PC / other systems login
  • Access to Student Computer Centre

Reminder:

  • Please backup data/ files from the above systems if you need to keep them before graduation in order to prevent inconvenience and/or data loss.
  • Remaining balance in print quota account is non-refundable and non-transferrable at any time.
  • Should you have outstanding debit note for student notebook payment, you must settle it before graduation.
  • You may consider purchasing the Microsoft products at Microsoft Store if you wish to continue using them after leaving HKCC / SPEED.
  • You may access Gemini personal version at gemini.google.com if you wish to continue using them after leaving HKCC / SPEED.
  • You can only access Transcript request feature in my.HKCC / my.SPEED after graduation.
  • You are also recommended to observe email announcement from PolyU Alumni Affairs and Development Office about the provision of lifelong PolyU alumni email account and OneDrive online storage.
