1. Wi-Fi Printing Sevice (2nd Round of Trial Run) at All Express Printing Areas, HHB Campus (Students Only)

In response to the positive feedback from the first round of trial run for Wi-Fi Printing Service in Dec 2012, Information Technology Unit (ITU) would like to conduct the 2nd round of trail run to expand this service to all Express Printing Areas (including 1/F, 3/F and 6/F) in Hung Hom Bay Campus. We are inviting 500 students to participate in this 2nd round of trial run from 25 Feb to 6 Apr 2013 at HHB Campus. The objective of this trial run is to enable students to experience campus-wide Wi-Fi printing service then collect their feedback for service improvement.

500-quota will be open for registration on a first-come-first-served basis, if you are notebook user and not registered in the first round of trail run, please register at

As a token of appreciation, students who participate in and complete a questionnaire after this trial run will get ONE $20 7-Eleven cash coupon.

2. It is time to perform SAM (Staff Only)

Staff members are reminded to scan their PC/Notes using SAM tool between 1 to 15 March 2013. For Staff who 'uses' a CPCE/HKCC/SPEED PC/notebook or 'oversees' a laboratory and/or functional PCs, please visit the CPCE SAM website https://sam.cpce-polyu.edu.hk to download the SAM tool for scanning. You will find that each software item in the PC/notebook will be classified into one of the following categories:

• CPCE Software -- Software licensed centrally by CPCE through ITU
• Departmental Software -- Software provided to you by your department
• Personal Software -- Software licenses you own
• Shareware -- Software licensed to you under a condition
• Freeware -- Software that you can use for free
• Unclassified -- Software that cannot be classified as any of the above

Please review each category and re-classify any software item as you see appropriate. Do provide a remark in the space provided to clarify the re-classification. You must resolve any unclassified/unlicensed software found in your PCs/notebooks.

3. Extension of Toshiba Notebook Offer until 15 March

It is pleased to announce Toshiba Notebook offering by Chevalier is extended to 15 March which students and staff are welcome to contact the vendor for ordering. All delivery arranged after campus collection period (HHB : 5 Mar / WK : 7 Mar) will be diverted to Chevalier Office at Kowloon Bay. 4. Availability of Microsoft Office 2013 for Microsoft Work at Home Use Right (Staff Only)

ITU is pleased to announce Microsoft Office 2013 is added to the portfolio of Microsoft Work at Home Use Right Software. CPCE staff member can install Microsoft Office 2013 in their notebook computer / home PC if this right is not exercised before.
