1. Network Upgrade Exercise (HHB)
To improve robustness and connection speed of campus network, there is network upgrade exercise in HHB campus currently. User is reminded there is service interruption from 10:30pm to 6:00am of next day to replace and test network devices in Hung Hom Bay(HHB) campus, details are as follows,

2. Securing your USB thumb drive
It is a regular reminder to students about data security in your USB thumb drive. With the coming of project period, students are advised impose the following measurements to safeguard your data, e.g., term paper document, project files, in USB thumb drive:
- Copy your files from USB thumb drive to other location, e.g., home PC, regularly for backup purpose
- Use USB thumb drive on PC only with updated Anti-Virus software installed
- Enable password protection software on USB thumb drive, if available
- For sensitive data, e.g., CV, should be encrypted using TrueCrypt or other software supporting Encryption mechanism.

3. Success of Wi-Fi Printing Trial Run (2nd round)
ITU is pleased to announce 2nd round of trial run of Wi-Fi printing in both campuses come to success. Around 200 students have been invited to experience this new service from 25 February till 30 April. ITU is currently collecting user feedback and planning for future arrangement. As usual, you are also welcome to contact our helpdesk for any suggestion and comment on this service.

4. IT Tips : Editing Microsoft Office Document in iPad
With the popularity of iPad, some users may want to use the device to edit Microsoft Office document, e.g., Word, Excel, Powerpoint. However, there is no Microsoft Office offering for iPad and there may be compatibility issue using third party software.
There is a small tip that Office Web Apps (Web Version of Microsoft Office) for iPad has been enhanced which allows editing. Student can create or edit their Microsoft Office document via SkyDrive which is bundled with student email account. Staff can register SkyDrive account for the service personally at http://www.skydrive.com.
