1. Staff Email Migration, PC Health Checking and SAM (Staff only)

ITU is pleased to announce a series of IT service enhancement for staff have been carried, it includes,

Staff Email migration
As is announced in previous newsletter, staff email will be migrated from campus hosted Microsoft Exchange email system to cloud based Office 365 email system. One of major benefits of this migration is email box size will be upgraded to 25GB, as well as provision of new service, like SkyDrive Pro, Microsoft Lync.

Staff email migration has been started and is expected to complete in earlier April. Staff of respective unit will be informed once scheduled.

PC health checking
As a service enhancement, PC health checking for staff PC is provided. This year service mainly covers staff PC network connectivity checking and result will be evaluated for further improvement. PC health checking will be carried during staff email migration.

SAM (Software Asset Management)
Similar to previous years, there will SAM exercise for staff on this year. In order to smooth the exercise, ITU shall provide on-site support on SAM and it will be carried during staff email migration, as well as PC health checking in order to shorten the disturbance to staff.

2. Getting to Know The Originality Reports in Turnitin™

When using Turnitin to check students' paper against plagiarism, an originality report will be generated for each student's paper. For academics and students to learn how to view the originality reports, please visit Turnitin training website at http://turnitin.com/en_us/training/instructor-training/viewing-originality-reports. A 3-minute video tutorial and comprehensive text tutorial is available. User is welcome to contact ITU for any enquiries.

3. Turnitin™ User Guide for Students

With the launch of Turnitin service in Moodle, teachers may require students to submit their assignment to Turnitin. A user guide on using Turnitin for students are available at CPCE Portal. To view online or download PDF file, please visit CPCE Portal, select [Moodle User Guide] and then Turnitin User Guide under student section.
