1. Coming Mega Sales on Apple Product

ITU is pleased to announce another round of Mega Sales roadshow for Apple product will be arranged as follows,

3. Useful app in iPad (Staff only)

There are some useful apps bundled in iPad to support mobile teaching. We are pleased to introduce 2 of them for reference.

Puffin		Puffin is a Flash browser. It is useful to visit web site with Flash which is not supported by Safari (iPad default browser) and Google Chrome
iTunesU		iTunes U contains a database of online course and materials from overseas university, lecturer may check iTunes U and see if there are useful reference materials for your course preparation

4. Tips for Using Moodle

To make convenient for staff and student in using Moodle, ITU is pleased to recommend two features, namely Activity completion and Docking.

Activity completion (Student only):

Activity completion allows students to mark specific activity / file with a check (tick) which appears against the activity when they complete that activity / file.
For example, after downloading or printing the notes, students can mark the file with a check (tick) as a checklist.

Docking:

The dock is an area for managing blocks.
Users can click the dock icon and tuck away the extra blocks to increase the screen size and the blocks will appear in the bar along the left border of the window.

Once a block is docked, you can hover your mouse on the block to expand (and to interact with) its contents.
To "undock" the block and return it to its usual place on the page, you can click on that same dock icon that you used earlier when you docked the block.

5. File Types Supported by Turnitin™

The features of Turnitin in Moodle has been updated this semester. When submitting an assignment to Turnitin, the following file types are accepted:

Newly supported types:

Microsoft PowerPoint® (PPT, PPTX, PPS and PPSX)
Microsoft Excel® (XLS and XLSX)
WordPerfect (WPD)
Rich Text Format and Hangul (HWP)

Already supported types in last semesters:

Microsoft Word® (DOC and DOCX)
Corel WordPerfect®
HTML
Adobe PostScript®
Plain text (TXT)
Rich Text Format (RTF)
Portable Document Format (PDF)
OpenOffice (ODT)
