1. Mobile Teaching Sharing Sessions (Staff Only)

Three sharing sessions were held in November regarding mobile teaching. Colleagues from various background including language, design, social science, science and business shared their use of mobile teaching, some of benefits like that below are shared,

  1. improving classroom interaction between lecturer and students
  2. possibility to use Apps in teaching and learning
  3. better handling of learner difference

ITU shall carry more sharing sessions in future and colleagues are welcome to follow announcement from ITU for details.

We would like to take this opportunity to thanks colleagues for valuable sharing of their experience in mobile teaching!

2. Do Not Print When There is a RED Light in Konica Minolta Printer (KM Printer)

A LED tower has setup for student printer (KM printer) which provides a quick view on printer's status:

Red LED: Printing is NOT ready for use due to paper jams, error codes, no paper or no toner. Please use other KM printers and contact ITU for maintenance.
Green LED: Printing is available.

Student is reminded NOT TO USE the printer when Red LED is on in the LED tower. Student can use printer nearby or that in other floors as print job in accessible in all KM printers inside campus.

3. Secure Your Data in USB Flash Drive

It is a regular reminder about securing your data in USB flash drive, especially in project session which it contains important data like project and term paper. In order to prevent data lost due to USB flash drive failure or losing, student is strongly advised,

  • Copy your files from USB thumb drive to other location, e.g. home PC, regularly for backup purpose
  • Use USB thumb drive on PC only with updated Anti-Virus software installed
  • Enable password protection software on USB thumb drive, if available

Another approach is to make use of online storage, e.g. if you have CPCE's student email account, you can make use of Microsoft OneDrive, which is bundled with your account and provide 1TB of storage. Student is welcome to approach ITU helpdesk for enquiry on this topic.
