1. Congratulations to Dr. Jason Chan (陳繼宇博士), Head of IT, for Winning the Ten Outstanding CIO & IT Executive Award
(十大傑出首席信息官及行政人員獎)

The award organizer, CIO(Chief Information Officer) and IT Executive Association, identified winners with outstanding vision and execution as CIO and IT leaders. The award was presented to our Head of IT, Dr. Jason Chan at award presentation ceremony held on 30 March 2017.




Highlights of Dr. Jason Chan's contributions include:


  • Overseeing and enhancing IT services in PolyU CPCE
  • Integrating technologies cross sectors and fields
  • Serving in numerous Government-appointed positions, professional and social services, capitalizing on his expertise
  • Successfully exploring new technologies in artificial intelligence, machine learning and big data

Being the Head of IT, Jason would like to share the joy and honor with all ITU colleagues, whose commitment and dedication have made the great achievements possible.

2. Reminder: Moodle is only Accessible to Summer Term Student after the End of Semester 2 (Student only)

Student is reminded, with the end of semester 2, Moodle will be inaccessible (there will be error message after logging-in) if you do not enrol summer term course(s). Accessibility to Moodle of all students will be re-enabled with the commencement of new academic year.

3. Tips on Mobile Teaching: Update on Microsoft Office App for iOS

User may aware, there is an update of Microsoft office app for iOS announced recently. One of the major updates of these apps is allowing drawing which lecturers can add annotation on Word, Excel documents directly. (A new Tab, Draw, is added on Microsoft office apps).


Users can remove annotation by either "Undo" or Eraser in Draw Tab. Annotation will be auto saved by closing the document. Users are welcome to update Microsoft Office App in iPad to experience this new feature.

4. SPSS Installed in Selected PCs in CPCE Libraries

ITU is pleased to announce there is SPSS installed in selected PC in HHB 10/F and WK-N 4/F. Student may look for PC with SPSS label for learning purpose, especially for overnight use.
