1. Upgrade Your CPCE Mobile App (for Android Users)

To improve user experience in using Instant Message(IM), ITU recommend users to upgrade your mobile app to the latest version (Android: 1.0.0.12).

This update includes:

• Bug Fixed: Fail to receive push notification

• Performance enhancement

This App can be downloaded from the App Store for iPhones or iPads or from Google Play for Android devices, or click this link https://ssoportal.cpce-polyu.edu.hk/app/ to choose your right platform for installation.

2. Office 365 Tips : How to Add Hong Kong Public Holidays to Your Outlook Calendar?

A. Microsoft Office Outlook Users (For Staff)

Users can follow the steps below to subscribe to the Hong Kong Public Holidays calendar in iCal format to your Outlook Calendar:

1. Within the Calendar view of your Outlook, right-click "My Calendars".




2. Click "Add Calendar" and then select "From Internet... ".

   



3. Enter the URL link for the language version of Internet Calendar that you want to choose:
   

   • English: http://www.1823.gov.hk/common/ical/en.ics

   • Traditional Chinese:
     http://www.1823.gov.hk/common/ical/tc.ics

   • Simplified Chinese:
     http://www.1823.gov.hk/common/ical/sc.ics

   




4. Click "OK" and then "Yes" subscribe to updates.

B. Outlook Web Access Users (For Students and Staff)

Users can follow the steps below to subscribe to the Hong Kong Public Holidays calendar in iCal format to your Calendar in Outlook Web Access:

1. For student: Login the email service in https://webmail.cpce-polyu.edu.hk
   For staff: Login email service in https://email.cpce-polyu.edu.hk




2. After login, click the "Calendar" icon

   
   



3. Click "Add Calendar" and then select "From Internet".

   
   



4. Enter the URL link for the language version of Internet Calendar that you want to choose and provide the calendar name e.g. HK Public Holiday:

   • English: http://www.1823.gov.hk/common/ical/en.ics

   • Traditional Chinese:
     http://www.1823.gov.hk/common/ical/tc.ics

   • Simplified Chinese:
     http://www.1823.gov.hk/common/ical/sc.ics

   
   
   



5. Click "Save" after filling in the information.




6. The calendar will be added and displayed in the left-hand side under "Other Calendar" section.

   
   

3. Dis-support of OneDrive for Mac OS X 10.11 and Earlier Version

Microsoft announced that OneDrive Sync Client will look to phase out support for Mac OS X Yosemite 10.10 and 10.11. These changes will go into effect on 1 February.

There will be no fixing of sync client software after the day for Mac OS X 10.11 and earlier version. Users are strongly recommended to upgrade to Mac OS X 10.12 or above before the deadline to ensure access to a supported version of OneDrive Sync Client.

4. Update in Meeting Room

Microsoft Office

To follow software update in staff office PC, Microsoft Office in meeting rooms of both campuses are upgraded to Office 2016. There is no change of Windows version (Windows 7).

Cabling work in WK-S1401

Notebook connector on table is changed from VGA to HDMI to provide better support for notebook computer. There is a VGA cable available beside video switcher for users, in case necessary.
Replacement work of other rooms will be scheduled shortly

5. Reminder : How to Turn On PC in Lectern

There is auto setting that PC is turned on / off to suit classroom schedule. Should the PC be turned off by previous user, users can turn on PC again using PC power button, which is normally available on upper left side of PC front.
